'Duck Dynasty' returns tonight: Who's watching A&E's quirky rags-to-riches reality show?

"Duck Dynasty's" "redneck" millionaires have returned! A&E's rags-to-riches reality series -- about a folksy Louisiana family who turned their whittled duck-call business into a hugely profitable business empire -- premieres its second season tonight (Oct. 10) with two new back-to-back episodes.

The Robertsons, who look more like a ZZ Top cover band than boardroom CEOs, still enjoy a simple life in their Louisiana bayou home -- and that's the appeal of this quirky show.

Tonight's premiere, for example, features a segment called "Talkin' Pies," in which Duck Commander founder Phil discusses the evening's dessert with his wife, Kay.

"Miss Kay loves to talk about makin' pies," drawls the bearded and bandanna'd patriarch. "I'm not into pie makin', I'm into pie eatin'."

Unlike the appalling antics of the "Jersey Shore" cast and the train-wreck tales of "docu-series" like "Teen Mom," "Duck Dynasty" focuses on a hard-working, loving family. The charming and charismatic Robertsons are wildly entertaining, without a whiff of exploitation. Hopefully, shows like this one will continue to whittle out a niche in the reality TV genre.

"Duck Dynasty" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on A&E. If you're not watching
