Taco Bell is giving out free Doritos Locos Tacos nationwide Tuesday afternoon in honor of the World Series, which the San Francisco Giants won in a four-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers.The Mexican-style chain, a sponsor of Major League Baseball, promised to offer the promotion if any player stole a base during the series. By Monday morning, the vessel had started taking on water, its engines failed and the crew of the stately craft had to abandon ship as it went down in the immense waves. One crew member died and Walbridge was still missing.

Most of the sailors were plucked from life rafts shortly after the ship went down, but Claudene Christian is found hours later, unresponsive and floating in the water. She was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital, coastguard David Weydert said.

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 — marking the great moment when all clocks are pushed back one hour.

It happens every year and many are thankful for the extra hour of sleep in preparation for long winter months. But as the furnaces kick back into full gear, it’s also a good reminder to change the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Per code, there should be at least one smoke detector in each bedroom, one in the hallway and the living room area and one on each additional level of a home. Carbon monoxide detectors also should be on each level.

The nanny suspected of slaying a Manhattan professional couple's two young children began stabbing herself as the mother entered the bathroom and began screaming when she saw the dead bodies in the bathtub, New York's police commissioner said on Friday.

The nanny, YoSelyn Ortega, had been employed by the family of Kevin and Marina Krim for two years before police said she killed their children and attempted suicide on Thursday in the family's luxury apartment, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
