Grey's Season 9 Episode 2 "Remember the Time" Promo
"In this flashback episode, return to the site of the plane crash and watch as each doctor tries to cope with the heartache and injuries caused by the crash. Meanwhile, back at Seattle Grace, everyone struggles to find a bit of normalcy amidst the chaos."
After the premiere, "Going, Going, Gone," you know that Mark dies—and he had specific instructions outlined—and Arizona lost a leg because of the plane crash. Cristina left Seattle Grace behind, and she and Meredith both couldn't get on a plane to see one another. But how did they all end up like that? What happened after the finale left them in the woods? That's where next week comes in.
The Grey's Anatomy season 9 episode 2 promo for "Remember
the Time" (below) is as heartbreaking as you would expect. First off, there's Meredith's "My sister, where's my sister?" Meredith didn't get a chance to say goodbye to Lexie. Is she going to have to find out all over again that her sister's dead? Unsurprisingly, the preview shows Mark in critical condition. Owen's going to be there for Cristina, who later appears to be in an almost catatonic state with Meredith begging her to say something. She throws a vase with flowers. Cristina may not have been badly injured, but it does make sense that she was greatly affected by the crash. After all, she's the one who left.
However, one of the saddest parts of the promo (which may be tied with Meredith's line about her sister for most heartbreaking) has to be Arizona tearfully telling Callie, "Promise me you won't let them take my leg," and Callie promising her. The premiere revealed at the end that Arizona did survive the crash, but she lost her leg, and because of that, she's not getting out of bed, leaving Callie to take care of everything as she mourns Mark. Even though this was one of the speculated storylines, this is likely going to bring some tears in next week's episode.
