One Ryder Cup fan got a little bit more than he bargained for as he watched the opening rounds of the competition – a knock on the head from a stray Tiger Woods tee shot.Woods, who was paired with Steve Stricker during the opening foursomes against Ian Poulter and Justin Rose at the Medinah Country Club endured some difficult holes early on.Compensation: Woods makes sure the fan is ok before signing his glove as a way of an apology

But none more so than the seventh, where his wayward tee shot went off course and into a crowd where it hit a watching fan flush on the head. Woods was quick to check the fan was ok and signed his glove for the fan as a way of apologising. Woods and Stricker lost 2&1 to Poulter and Rose in their foursomes.
