I’m A Celeb and Celebrity Big Brother “battling” to land Kate Middleton’s cousin for their show!

That old adage about not being able to choose your family is one that the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, must have ringing in her head right now like a mantra, given that her cousin, Katrina Darling, is being chased by several TV networks to star on their shows.

Among those said to be battling to get Katrina – who admits she’s never met her now royal cousin Kate – to sign on the dotted line are Channel 5 and ITV who are said to be “desperate” to secure her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here respectively.

Katrina, who describes herself as a burlesque dancer – and whose appeared in Playboy magazine – is related to Kate as her gran is sister to Kate’s great granddad.

A TV insider told the Daily Star of ITV and Channel 5’s bidding war over Katrina, “They know she would be dynamite to secure.”

The source added, “Kate might not be happy but you can bet she and the other royals will tune in.”

Meanwhile, a spokesman for Katrina confirmed that she had been

approached with several offers of TV work, saying, “We’re considering a number of offers for reality TV shows.”

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here returns to ITV1 in November, while Celebrity Big Brother is back on Channel 5 in the New Year.

So far, rumoured to have already signed up for I’m A Celeb are actresses Linda Robson and former Corrie star Helen Flanagan.

It’s also been reported that Britain’s Got Talent stars Jonathan Antoine and his opera singing partner Charlotte Jaconelli are “split” on whether to go into the jungle for this year’s show, given that Charlotte is keen to take on the project, while Jonathan apparently isn’t.
